Verdict: Read this if you love drama and like to get a glimpse into the life of the rich and famous or in this case, filthy rich people. If you like snooty characters and the mention of designer labels like a hundred times on one chapter then this is for you.
This was a wonderful and entertaining read which gives us a glimpse into the life of the wealthy. When the family matriarch Su Yi has a heart attack the whole family gathers at Tyersall park mainly because she looks like she won't survive it.
A majority of these family members have actually come to try and get into her good graces so that they can get a big share of her money when she dies. There is Eddie (what an entitled jerk) who is determined to get Tyersall park no matter what which makes him do the most idiotic things. In fact apart from from Kitty, Eddie is the most ridiculous character in this book.
Apart from spending money like it grows on trees this family is also crazy. I couldn't believe it when Eleanor called Rachel for a bible study which turned out to be a ruse to get her checked to see why she and Nick were not getting kids. I found this book to be well written, the author does a good job at describing the characters, their homes and their fabulous clothes.
The ending was good although I actually thought Astrid and Charlie were the ones getting married. I am off to find the first two books.
