All Matters Spice in: Four Takeaways and a Funeral

Title: Four Takeaways and a Funeral: Book 3 of Belly dancing and Beyond by Kerrie Noor
Rating: 3.5 stars

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a funny and relatable story of love, family, and friendship. In Four Takeaways and a Funeral, Mavis and Lumpy are getting married. That is if they could agree on anything about their wedding. Lumpy wants the wedding to be all about spice but Mavis has different ideas for the wedding. Eventually, a meddling relative and their differences bring a wedge between them. For the most part you are kept wondering if there will even be a wedding.

This is the third book in the Belly dancing and Beyond series. I must admit that I haven’t read the previous books but this did not affect my reading in any way. The likable characters and the relatable way the author writes them was the best part of this book.

The descriptions in the book were vivid, and well written especially that of the food. Apart from Biryani, I don’t think that I have ever seen most of the food written in this book. This did not stop me from picturing them and even wondering how delicious they would taste. There was an issue of missing letters when it came to some words in the book but these were minor mistakes.

This was a quick and relaxing read that I would recommend to someone looking for something to read. Readers of Women’s fiction will also enjoy this particular book.
